Black/White: a collection of ideas and explorations. Visual non-verbal and non-textural poems, on paper and of paper.
Black/White: building drawing and construction starting with traditional materials and methods, mark making, the residue of dragging time across a paper, using line and mass and volume and texture and balance and counterpoint and contrast and assimilation. And then creasing, folding, hiding, cutting, exposing, making implied lines and making formed areas. And then layering and building and getting off the page into space with touch tactile feeling texture soft delicate fragile temporary paper and light and shadow, white and black. And then the play of color, reflecting and absorbing, using materials wrong, wet against dry, hard against soft, not worried, not concerned, not constrained, not held by Ars longa, vita brevis. Questions for you: what do you see? What do you think? What do you feel?
