The Scarab Club invites submissions for he 102nd Gold Medal Exhibition, an annual exhibition showcasing the work of SC members. The purpose of the exhibition is to recognize the diversity and achievement of artists whose work shows creativity of concept, excellence of design and expertise of media; to display these works to regional audiences and to be an educational opportunity for students. Lynn Galbreath is a Detroit based artist who grew up in Argentina. Galbreath works in the mediums of oil paint, graphite, digital imagining, and mixed media. Galbreath has an MFA in Painting from Wayne State University and is the recipient of numerous awards including a Creative Artists’ Grant from the Arts Foundation of Michigan and a Michigan Individual Artist Grant from Michigan Council for the Arts. Galbreath exhibits her work locally, nationally and internationally. She has participated in 7 solo, 4 two-person, and more than 80 group exhibitions over the past decade.

Galbreath is a full-time adjunct Assistant Professor of Drawing, Painting and Design at Oakland University, where she has been on the faculty of the Art & Art History Department since 2000. Prior to her academic career, Galbreath had a very successful career as a Senior Art Director working for several national agencies. She is currently one of the co-founders of Galbreath Design.
