Painter and paper artist Meighen Jackson’s recent solo show at Janice Charach Gallery is about bodies in motion; climbing, evolving, revolving and taking some tumbles along the way. It features Jackson’s lifelong interest in dynamic line and her first foray into large sculptural installations. Jackson, a metro Detroit-based painter, educator and lecturer on contemporary art is represented nationally by Walter Wickiser Gallery in Manhattan and shows regionally with M Contemporary and Ward Gallery. She is a former head of Chrysler Corporate Identity, Graphics and Printing Services. Jackson holds an MFA in painting from the University of Cincinnati and undergraduate degrees from Michigan State University.
