JUROR
Ralph Jones’ skills as a photographer have earned him a respected place among Detroit artists. Jones is perhaps best known for his photographs of the streets and environs of the city of Detroit. He has shared his knowledge as a mentor for the Focus Hope: Focus on the Mission project, and exhibited his photography widely, including at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Artist Market, Focus Hope Photography Festival, Norwest Gallery and the Scarab Club.

“The images by a dozen contemporary photographers—among them, Ralph Jones, Scott Hocking, Dave Jordano, Leni Sinclair and Steve Shaw—offer a nuanced view of the city that gets beyond the clichés of ruin porn and superficial travelogues.”
