The Gilda Snowden Memorial Exhibition is an unthemed, all-media show, juried by Tylonn Sawyer. The exhibition, formerly called the Silver Medal Exhibition, was renamed in 2015 to honor the memory of Gilda Snowden, one of Detroit’s most loved artists and educators.

JUROR
Tylonn J. Sawyer is a Detroit-based figurative artist and educator whose work centers around themes of individual and collective identity, race, history, and pop culture. His drawings and paintings have been included in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad. Sawyer holds a BFA in drawing and painting from Eastern Michigan University and an MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art: Graduate School of Figurative Art. He is the recipient of a 2019 Kresge Fellowship.
