George Bedard is a seminal figure on the Michigan roots music scene. In the 1960’s, while teaching himself guitar, George expanded his musical horizons by listening to all the Blues greats. By the 1970’s he had teamed up the Guitarist Steve Nardella  and formed the very popular band the Silvertones, which became Ann Arbor’s most popular Blues and Rockabilly Band.

George Bedard has been entertaining audiences ever since. Joining George Bedard in the Kingpins are David Roof on Stand-up Bass and Rich Dishman on Drums. The set will begin with some classic rockabilly featuring the awesome David Roof, master of  the slap bass technique, which he performs with several bands around Michigan. “We’ll pay special attention to the Blues and R &B tunes that the first wave of rockabilly artists like Elvis and Carl Perkins were influenced by, but recorded in their own styles,” says Bedard who himself  was called one of the best rockabilly pickers on the planet by Goldmine Magazine
