Life Drawing at the Scarab Club

Popularly known at the club as “Sketch Sessions,”  these are non-instructional, drop-in opportunities for artists to draw and paint from a variety of live models. Join us, all levels of experience are welcome! These sessions require you to supply your own materials: bring a pad of drawing paper or stretched canvas and your favorite drawing and/or painting supplies.

Sessions are hosted 4 times a week as follows:

Thursday nights, 7 pm-10 pm

Starts with several gesture poses of 5 minutes or less, working up to poses of 25 minutes or more. Nude.

First Saturday of the month, 10 am-4:30 pm

One 6-hour pose with a half-hour break for lunch at 1pm. Clothed or nude, alternating each month.

Saturday mornings, 10 am-1 pm

One 3-hour pose. Clothed.

Saturday afternoons, 1:30 pm-4:30 pm

One 3-hour pose. Nude.

Sunday afternoons, 1:30 pm-4:30 pm

Medium length poses, at discretion of the moderator. Usually 45-minute poses. Nude.

Add unlimited sketch sessions to your membership by joining the Scarab Club Sketch Club! See the membership page for details. Student level and Scarab level members can attend twelve (12) sessions per year as part of their membership. Additional sessions will carry a charge. 

We no longer allow unlimited walk-in sketchers. If you are not a member, please check in at the front desk and get a four-session trial for $10. To attend sketch sessions after your trial period, you must become a member.
