JUROR: ELIZABETH YOUNGBLOOD
Elizabeth Youngblood is a visual artist and designer living and working In Detroit. She has a wide ranging practice which includes drawing, ceramics, fiber and hand-made books. Her design practice includes hand produced scarves and what she refers to as ‘wearables’ which are based on her 2- and 3-dimensional drawings. Deeply rooted in a respect for the craft of making and for the time required to ‘make’, she explores themes of time, loss and the process of thought. Subtlety, small modulations in color, texture and the nature of the materials with which she works are hallmarks of any of the mediums in which she works.
