Q: Do you have to be a member to host an event at the Scarab Club?
A: No. You only have to be a member if you’d like to serve alcohol.
Q: What items will I be responsible for?
A: Rentals have to provide your own linens for your event.
Q: Do you have a maximum number of guests ?
A: Yes. Our maximum guest count is 125 for the whole building rentals.
Q: Are you handicapped accessible?
A: We are not fully accessible for visitors who has mobility issues. We do have a chair lift from the parking lot level to the Gallery Level only.
Q: What types of décor restrictions do you have for weddings?
A: We do not allow candles, votives, or other types of open flamed illumination in the building. We don’t allow any hanging or taping of decorations on walls of galleries, garden, or building.
Q: Can we bring our own alcohol or smoke in the building?
A: No, our liquor license with the State of Michigan does not allow for guests to bring their own alcohol and we do not allow smoking or vaping in the building. Guests are welcome to smoke or vape in the garden.
Q: What is the parking situation?
A: We have private parking for about 20 -25 vehicles. Valet parking can be arranged with an external vendor. Street parking and parking in the DIA lot is available.
Q: Can I provide my own caterer?
A: The Scarab Club has an in-house preferred caterer for dinner service.
Q: What do you provide for set up and staffing?
A: Our staff provides basic set up for tables, chairs, bar, and AV. A $250 fee will be charged for Scarab Club staff to arrange additional items.
Q: What type of private events can be hosted at the Scarab Club?
A: We’ve hosted film premiers, graduation parties, pre & after-glow receptions, holiday parties, bridal & baby showers, retirement parties, memorial services.
Q: What type of events are not hosted at the Scarab?
A: We do not host fundraisers or other non-profit organizations, private artist showings or exhibitions.
Q: Do you host daytime rentals?
A: Yes, upon approval of the Scarab Club leadership.
Q: Do you have to be a member to host a corporate event at the Scarab Club?
A: No, you DO NOT have to be a member to host a corporate event at The Scarab Club.
Q: Does the Scarab Club have AV equipment that can be used for corporate presentations? (Monitor, Screen, Projector,etc)
A: Yes, we have a wall mounted screen in the Gallery and a 6.5ft fold out screen for use in the lounge or historic room.
Q: Does the Scarab provide food & beverage services for Corporate Events?
A: The Scarab has a contracted caterer that can be used for corporate events.
